Anchor & Hope Rewards — membership terms and conditions
The Anchor & Hope Pubs Ltd · Version 2026-11c-511fb2bd
Key subscription information — please read before joining
Paid memberships are monthly rolling subscriptions. They renew automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from Manage membership in the app. Cancelling stops the next payment; you keep your benefits until the end of the month you have paid for.
You have 14 days from the day you join to change your mind (see the section "Your 14-day right to cancel").
- Silver: £4.95 a month
- Gold: £14.95 a month
1. Who we are
Anchor & Hope Rewards is the membership and loyalty scheme of The Anchor & Hope, run by The Anchor & Hope Pubs Ltd, registered at 14 Marine Parade, Brighton, BN2 1TW ("we", "us"). You can contact us by email at [email protected].
The app is provided to us by a third-party software platform. We, not the platform, are responsible for the scheme and these terms.
2. The scheme
Membership lets you collect points, receive member offers and rewards, and choose a paid membership with extra benefits. The current benefits of each membership level are shown in the app, and that description forms part of these terms.
- Member (free)
- Silver (£4.95 a month) — 5% member discount on eligible purchases
- Gold (£14.95 a month) — 10% member discount on eligible purchases — 1 included item a week
3. Who can join
You must be 18 or over to join. Membership is personal to you: don't share your account, card or QR code. Membership is not proof of age.
4. Paid memberships and payment
Payments are taken by our payment provider, Square, from the card you give when you join. By joining a paid membership you authorise us to take the monthly price on or around the same day each month until you cancel.
Your paid benefits start once the first payment has gone through.
If you move to a higher level part-way through a month, we take a one-off payment for the difference for the rest of that month and your new benefits start straight away. If you move to a lower level, the change takes effect from your next payment date.
5. Failed payments
If a monthly payment fails, Square will email you the unpaid invoice so you can pay it, and you can update your card from Manage membership. If it stays unpaid, your paid benefits may be suspended and your membership may return to the free level.
6. Price and benefit changes
We may change the price or benefits of a paid membership. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price increase or a significant reduction in benefits, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Existing members keep their current price until we notify them otherwise.
7. Your 14-day right to cancel
You can cancel a new paid membership within 14 days of joining without giving a reason, by cancelling in the app or contacting us (you can use the model form at the end of these terms).
Because you asked for your benefits to start straight away, if you cancel within the 14 days we may deduct a proportionate amount for the days you had the membership, and refund the rest within 14 days using the card you paid with.
8. Cancelling after 14 days
You can cancel at any time in the app. Your membership continues until the end of the month you have paid for and is not renewed; no partial refunds are given for the rest of that month, except where the law requires.
9. Points
You earn points on eligible purchases when your membership card or QR code is scanned at the time of purchase, at the rate shown in the app. Points can't be added afterwards unless we agree to correct a missed purchase.
Points have no cash value, can't be sold or exchanged for money, and are personal to you (except where the app lets you gift them to another member). Unused points may expire as shown in the app; we will tell you before they do.
If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the points earned on it are taken back, which can make your balance negative. We may correct points added in error.
10. Discounts, rewards and offers
Member discounts apply to eligible items when your card is scanned before you pay. Unless an offer says otherwise, discounts and offers can't be combined with each other or exchanged for cash, and some items may be excluded.
Rewards, offers and challenges have their own conditions shown in the app, including when they end. We may withdraw an offer at any time but will honour rewards you have already claimed.
11. Included items
Some paid memberships include items each week. Your weekly allowance, the eligible items and any times they can be redeemed are shown in the app. Unused items don't roll over to the next week and have no cash value. Items are subject to availability.
12. Alcohol
Alcohol is only served to people aged 18 or over. We operate Challenge 25: you may be asked for valid photo ID, and staff may refuse service, including redeeming a reward, offer or included item, where the law requires or where they consider it appropriate.
Offers and rewards involving alcohol are subject to licensing law, including any minimum unit pricing that applies where you are. We never run promotions that encourage irresponsible drinking.
13. Vouchers
Vouchers in the app are redeemed at the till by scanning them, must be used before the date shown, have no cash value and can't be exchanged or transferred.
14. Events and tickets
Tickets are sold subject to any conditions shown for the event. Paid tickets are paid with Square. Because events take place on a specific date, the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to tickets. If we cancel an event, we refund your ticket in full. Other refunds are at our discretion, unless the law requires otherwise.
15. Table bookings
You don't need to be a member to book a table. A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email. You can change or cancel it online, using the link in that email, up to the time shown there; after that, please contact us. We may hold your table for a limited time after the booked time and give it to other guests if you haven't arrived.
Please tell us about any allergies or access needs when you book; we will do our best to help but can't guarantee any dish is free of a particular allergen.
For some bookings we may ask for a deposit, or for a card to hold the table. We will always show you the amount and the rules before you pay or save a card. A deposit is taken off your bill on the day, refunded in full if you cancel in time, and kept if you cancel late or don't come. A saved card is only charged the no-show fee you agreed to if you don't come and didn't cancel in time; we email you if we charge it. Card payments are handled by Square, our payment provider; we never see your full card number.
16. Your account and card
Keep your login details secure and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend an account where we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
17. Complimentary memberships
We may give a membership free of charge for a period. It ends automatically at the end of that period unless you choose to pay for it.
18. Ending your membership
You can delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or end your membership if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, behave abusively towards staff or customers, or misuse the scheme; in that case any paid membership ends without refund unless the law requires otherwise.
We may close the scheme or end memberships for other reasons by giving you at least 30 days' notice; we will refund any payment for a period after the closure.
19. The app
We aim to keep the app available but can't guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. Benefits may only be available when the app and our till systems are working. If we make an obvious error in a price, offer or balance, we may correct it.
20. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
These terms don't affect your legal rights as a consumer. For advice on your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
21. Privacy and messages
We use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Notice. We send you service messages about your account, payments and tickets; we only send marketing messages if you have agreed, and you can change this at any time in the app.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or to the scheme. We will tell you about important changes in advance. If you don't agree, you can cancel your membership before they take effect.
23. Questions and complaints
If you have a question or complaint, contact us by email at [email protected]. We will try to resolve it quickly and fairly.
24. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. No one else has any rights under these terms.
